We had scheduled a party for my dad's 90th birthday, with over 30 guests and family, to be held at a restaurant in Subic Freeport . During that week dad didn't feel well so he asked me to cancel the party, and I was in Hong Kong with Dave ! I sent out email cancellations but they didn't get theirs and wound up at the restaurant only to find no one there. Dad didn't make a wish as he said all his wishes came true just having his family there. I directed them to our house, and didn't tell dad till they were there. It was quite dim and dad is legally blind now, so he didn't even see them come in. Dad wanted just the 4 of us to have a quiet dinner, but since it was such a momentous birthday, 90, I decided at the last minute to include two gal pals who just live a few houses down. On July 22, 2009 I interviewed on Net 25 TV at for their HopePage show, to talk about tips for online businesses and to promote the new book launch for GoNegosyo that evening at National Bookstore, Rockwell Power Plant in Makati, Philippines. I am honored and humbled to be in Joey Conception's Gonegosyo book called - 55 Inspiring Stories of Women Entrepreneurs,  which President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo formally launched. It is the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship-Go Negosyo’s third book focusing on women entrepreneurship. It was held at the National Bookstore in Rockwell, Makati City, Feb. 26, 2009. The book got prominent display at the National bookstore at the Power Plant Mall at Rockwell. It became the #1 Best Selling book in the non-fiction category that year! So many people behind any success I had.  In the book I mentioned my friend as one of my mentors, Dennis Patterson. He taught me how to make websites and use photoshop. Dave and I were invited to fly up to Baluarte , Vigan, Ilocos Sur, with our compadre Chavit Singson to experience first hand his beloved zoo. There are camels, orangotangs, ostriches, tigers, Palawan bear cats, birds of many kinds. Reptiles galore...not my thing but a couple of the guests braved the up close encounter! Even draping one around her! I touched it, but the thing was so much bigger than me and I thought perhaps I looked more like a meal to it than anything else...so I kept a safe distance!At the free animal show (actually everything is free at the Baluarte zoo), the audience is invited to participate, many kids and kids at heart including myself, got to hold the animals and experience them first hand. I was lucky enough to get a sugar glider. Soft and furry, cute and sweet, unlike the next guest who got a lizard and then next a snake! I especially enjoyed playing with the organgotangs. Luncheon Lauriat for Ramon A Limjoco 89th and Helen Limjoco 83rd Birthday Sept. 7, 2008-Tagaytay Highlands China Palace, Mall of Asia, Manila. I had two weeks to put together a hurried guest list as I had not been feeling well up until a few days before the party. My mom and dad's birthdays fall within 1 week of each other. Most of the people we know live in or have easier access to Manila than Subic Bay Freeport, where we live. We all decided to have the luncheon in Manila.
